Barbie died peacefully at her home in Toronto on January 14, 2026, in the company of her loving siblings. She was 69. She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her sisters – Hennie Corrin (Richard Corrin) and Patrice Goldberg and her brother Laurence Goldberg (Diane Spivak); seven nieces and nephews — Matthew Corrin, Rachel Nedelec (Adam Nedelec), Adam Corrin (Lexi Corrin), Jonathan Goldberg, Rebecca Goldberg, Eric Meche, and Michael Goldberg; and nine great-grandnieces and great-nephews; and will be sadly missed by many loving cousins and dear friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Elaine Goldberg and her father Percy Goldberg.
Barbie was such a good person – a mix of grace, grit, style, competence and cool. She touched many lives in meaningful and indelible ways. She is already deeply missed. She received exemplary care from Dr. Arndt Vogel and his team at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Dr. Emily Swinkin and Dr. Holly Fennel. At the University of Toronto, I worked under Barb in the Department of Recreation from 1985-1987. She was amazing as a recreation coordinator, and a supportive friend. Always positive and upbeat. The world is darker without her presence. Love you always Barb. You are and always will be a beautiful soul and a part of me from my UT days. - Posted by: Dr. Andrew Lindsay (Employee) on: Jan 27, 2026

I was saddened to hear of Barb’s passing. Condolences to her family. I have very fond memories of attending U of M with Barb. Playing hockey, Physical. Ed. Parties and study sessions with Barb were always fun.
